IEC Georgia held its 2012 Columbus graduation Monday, July 9th at the Columbus Marriott with 38 graduates, family and contractors in attendance. 16 graduates attained their journeyman certification and are now ready to officially begin their career as electricians.

The celebration began with a catered buffet dinner. The graduates shared this occasion with family and friends on-looking as they listened to an uplifting speech from Jay Alexander, President of Alexander Electric.

Mr. Alexander thanked the 2012 graduates for all of their hard work and dedication to reach their accomplishment. Mr. Alexander went on to add the importance of the support of family during this process. This accomplishment is one to be celebrated together.

Betsy Ritch-Reed, President of Ritch Electric and IEC board member, presented certificates to the well deserving graduates. David Bill of Columbus Tech College recognized the instructors and this year's recipient of the Academic Achievement award. This year the Academic Achievement award went to William Foster of Jordan Electric, who maintained a 94.5 percent average throughout the entire apprenticeship training program. Great job William Foster, you make a tough job look easy!

IEC appreciates each and every graduate completing the apprenticeship program, and IEC looks forward to witnessing more success they have to come.
